💡 About the Library

A place to read, wonder, learn and grow.

The library of PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2 Kasaragod is the reading and learning heart of our school. It supports what students learn in the classroom and, just as importantly, what they choose to learn on their own.

We want every student who walks through our doors to find a book they love, a question worth asking, and the confidence to find answers independently. Our aim is simple: to help students become lifelong readers and confident, curious learners.

Our Vision

A school where every child reads widely and willingly, knows how to find and judge information, and enjoys learning beyond the textbook.

Our Mission

Our Collection

The library holds books for every age and interest — fiction, non-fiction, reference works, biographies, competitive-exam guides and books in more than one language — along with newspapers and periodicals. Every book is listed in our online library catalogue, so students can check what is available before they visit.

Digital Library

Learning does not stop when the library closes. Our Digital Library brings together e-books, audiobooks, NCERT textbooks, study materials and question papers in one place.

The library also subscribes to the British Council Online Library, giving access to thousands of e-books, audiobooks and learning tools, and to DELNET's DEL-DRES discovery portal for research material from libraries across India and abroad.

Learning Every Day

Our library runs a family of daily learning pages built in-house:

💡

Knowledge Daily

Word, idiom, GK and quiz for every school day.

📈

Business Daily

A business concept a day for Commerce students.

🧒

Think & Learn

Daily learning for our youngest readers in Classes 1–5.

Reading Programmes & Activities

Reading sits at the centre of everything we do. Through the year, the library organises book quizzes, reading challenges, Readers' Club meetings, story sessions, debates and celebrations of important days. Students also produce their own podcasts through Library Talks and contribute to the weekly library newsletter.

A Technology-Enabled Library

Technology helps students discover and use resources more easily. Students can search the OPAC, use the Student Portal, and get reading help from Nova, our library AI assistant. Many of our quizzes, games and learning pages have been designed and built by the librarian for our students.

A Library That Invites Participation

Students learn best when they take part. Through the Library Point System, they earn recognition for returning books on time, writing reviews, joining quizzes and completing reading challenges. Students are encouraged to suggest new books, recommend titles to friends and share what they have read.
